Battle for Australia Commemorative Service, Cenotaph, Martin Place, 5 SEPTEMBER 2012

Dear Brethren,

Men and women of the Masonic family have proudly served this country in all theatres of war in which Australians have been involved including those campaigns which fall under the banner of The Battle for Australia.

In order that their deeds are not forgotten, the Grand Master, MW Bro Commander Derek Robson, AM, RAN Ret’d, has given his approval for Freemasons to participate in the Battle for Australia Commemorative Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Cenotaph, Martin Place, Sydney on Wednesday 5 September 2012. The Service will commence at 10.30 am. Those attending are to be seated by 10.15 am.

Agreement has been reached with the Chairman, NSW Battle for Australia Committee, Lt Col.(ACC) David Cooper OAM and Lt Col Brian Nebenzahl, OAM, RFD, for wreaths to be laid on behalf of the United Grand Lodge of NSW and ACT and the Freemasons Association (NSW & ACT) Inc. The Masonic Wreath Laying Party will include:

MW Bro Commander Derek Robson AM, RAN Ret’d.
RW Bro Major General Raymond Sharp AO, RFD, ED, Past Chairman of the NSW and National Battle for Australia Committees.
RW Bro Emmanuel Maniago, Senior Grand Warden, President Freemasons’ Association.
Dr Yvonne McIntyre, 2RAANC (Rtd)

Also in attendance will be Her Excellency, Professor Marie Bashir, AC CVO, Governor NSW.
