Grand Master’s QLD Flood Appeal – Update

Extract from masoniCare’s Letter:

The recent floods in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria have touched us all and, as always, Freemasons have shown they care for those affected by natural disasters. Many of you have given generously to various appeals and we are proud to hear of those organising fundraising events in the name of Freemasonry.

In the January issue of masoniCare’s Intouch newsletter we detail how your Grand Charity aims to help those in need and how brethren may further do their part in demonstrating ‘Freemasons in Action.  The main content of the newsletter is summarised below:

  • The Grand Master has announced that the Grand Charity Board/masoniCare will be pledging $100,000 to assist the Grand Master’s QLD Flood Appeal.
  • masoniCare has also opened a Flood Victims Appeal to assist those affected by this disaster. Donations may be made online, by post, phone or mail.
  • masoniCare and Lodge Thespian invite you to attend Tivoli 2011 Flood Victims Appeal fundraising event to be held on Thursday, April 7 at the Sydney Masonic Centre. Doors open at 6.30pm and tickets are $40 each. There will be a great line up of entertainers, fantastic raffle prizes and a complimentary drink on arrival.
  • Region 3 has organised a North East Challenge Golf Day to be held on Friday, 25th March at Woodville Golf Course, Guildford. All proceeds will go towards masoniCare’s Flood Victims Appeal. Cost is $50 per player which covers green fees, a sausage sizzle lunch and some drinks. The day is open to all golfers (not only masons) and both genders. There will be a raffle on the day – first prize is a round of golf with a professional.

We would also appreciate it if you could make Intouch available to any interested brethren when requested.
